    Fencing Season
    Semester 1 September to December
    Semester 2 January to April
    Semester 3 May and June
  • Monthly fees are only offered when a student is permitted to enroll in a class part way through the season. Instead of paying the full semester dues, fees are calculated according to the monthly rate, and time remaining in the semester.

  • REFUND POLICY: Due to the fact that we limit class sizes, we do not permit advance registration without payment. Additionally once we have sold a berth to a student, our policy is to not provide a refund. Please feel free to make any such requests, as they will then be dealt with on a case by case basis. Be prepared to forfeit a portion of the initial fee, in the case where a refund occurs.

  • Provincial & National Membership Fees: All members must have an Alberta Provincial Association membership, as well as Canadian Fencing Federation membership. Those fencers who wish to compete at Provincial circuit, or National events, must possess a competitive level membership. Those who will fence at the recreational level only, can purchase the non-competitive membership. The costs for these have been blended, and are indicated below. These fees must be paid in addition to club fees. They will be collected by the club and forwarded to the Federation. All members may upgrade their membership category, by paying the extra, or difference, in fee at any time.

Provincial Fees
Competitive membership $50 CDN
Non-competitive membership $15 CDN

  • Class sizes: Are restricted to certain maximums. Class berths are offered first to existing members, and as openings allow, to the general public. For advancement to higher classes, coaches consent is necessary.

Equipment: All members will be required to purchase their own fencing equipment, as determined by the following list. This will be the minimum required equipment expected of our club members.

  • First year members must purchase a fencing glove and body cord
  • Second year members must purchase an electric weapon
  • Third year members must purchase a mask
  • Fourth year members must purchase a jacket
  • After five years, you should have all your own equipment.
  • Competitive fencers must purchase breeches, underarm protector, and socks immediately, as they are required at all AFA circuit events. Competitive fencers must have their complete set of equipment for use at competitions. Including two weapons, two cords, mask, jacket, breeches, socks and underarm protector.
