Welcome to the Red Deer Fencing Club Website.

The Red Deer Fencing Club is a recreational and competitive olympic fencing club teaching the current competitive style of electric fencing in the Red Deer and Central Alberta area. We train many fencers in Alberta with a particular emphasis on epee, the duelling sword.

This site contains information for those new to the sport of fencing (in the About Fencing section), tactical, information about maintaining equipment available through the club, as well as general information for those interested in the Club itself (in the About RDFC section).

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. If you like what you see, join!

Pentathlon National Championships
Our summer camp is completed and was a success. This was followed by the Modern Pentathlon National Championships, of which we hosted the fencing element. The pentathletes were great fun to work with, and although the day was rather long, everyone was still smiles after it was all over. Emily Caine had a great event, and ended up on the front page of the local paper. article.
Karis Langvand takes gold
Karis is the Western Canadian Champion for Junior Women's Epee. It was a difficult tournament for certain, and with a rocky start Karis set herself up for a tough road to the podium. She eventually won through though, taking down Alyssa Fu (of Dynamo fencing club in Vancouver) in a 15 vs 14 match. Congratualtions to Karis for a medal hard won, and well deserved.
